1. Agreeing to these terms
Mirror is provided by Pixolent(“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Mirror apps or website (the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Who can use Mirror
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mirror. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for activity on your account, and you should tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Mirror is not professional or emergency care
Mirror offers Scripture-based reflection and encouragement. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. Nothing in the Service replaces a doctor, counsellor, or other qualified professional. Character suggestions and plans are generated to support reflection and may not fit every situation. Use your own judgement and seek qualified help where you need it.
If you or someone else is at risk of harm, contact local emergency services immediately. Our support page lists places to get urgent help.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you write in Mirror, including journal entries, check-ins, reflections and posts (“your content”). You give us a limited licence to store, process and display your content only to provide the Service to you, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content you shared with others that they have already seen.
Private content such as your journal and check-ins stays private unless you choose to share it.
5. Community and accountability
Mirror's shared spaces only work if they stay safe and kind. When you post, share or message in Mirror, you agree not to:
- harass, shame, threaten or bully anyone;
- post content that is hateful, sexually explicit, violent or illegal;
- share someone else's private information or stories without their permission;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are;
- advertise, spam, or ask for money;
- encourage self-harm or discourage anyone from seeking professional or emergency help.
You can report any post or message you think breaks these rules. We may review, remove or restrict content, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
6. Using the Service fairly
Don't misuse the Service. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with or overloading our systems, reverse-engineering the apps except where the law allows it, or scraping or copying our content at scale.
7. Our content
Mirror's design, artwork, plans, reflections and other content belong to Pixolent or our licensors. Scripture quotations are used under the terms of their respective translations. You may use our content for your own personal, non-commercial use within the Service.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
Mirror is free to download, and its core features, including all safety and crisis features, are free. If we offer optional paid features, they are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and your purchase is also governed by that store's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Mirror at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app (see how to delete your account). Deleting the app does not delete your account. If you have a subscription, cancel it through your app store as well. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons. Where appropriate, we will tell you first.
10. Changes to the Service and these terms
We are always improving Mirror, so features may change. If we make significant changes to these terms, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Mirror after that, the new terms apply.
11. Our responsibility to you
We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, that were caused by your breach of these terms, or that arise from decisions you make based on content in the Service. Where the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring claims in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
13. App store terms
If you downloaded Mirror from the Apple App Store, you agree that these terms are between you and Pixolent, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you. The same applies to Google if you downloaded Mirror from Google Play, to the extent Google's terms require it.
